About me
My name is Jeanethe Peña, and I am a proud mother of 4 and a grandmother of 5 beautiful children.
Child care has been my lifelong passion; I have been providing child care services in both El Salvador since I was a teenager and here in the United States for more than 10 years. Garabatos DayCare
¡Hola! Bienvenidos a Garabatos Daycare! A home-based Spanish Immersion Daycare (Lic #434415533)
Garabatos is the Spanish word for “doodles”. Traditionally, doodling has been seen as a distraction from the real work of learning. However, Sharlene Habermeyer, M.A. author of Good Music Brighter Children, says “doodling is an important way for kids, teens and adults to relax, stay focused, grasp new concepts, retain information, think creative thoughts, improve memory, and achieve better health.”
Although we will not be spending the day doodling away, my goal at Garabatos Daycare is to provide children a foundation for learning another language in a fun and positive way, like “doodling” is. Just like a doodle can have so much potential to help each individual to succeed in the future, I believe that by simply being immersed in the language and consistently listening, talking, learning, exploring, playing and singing, your child will learn all while having lots of fun in Spanish!
After many years of working with children here in the Bay Area and as a preschool teacher in my home country, El Salvador, I decided it was time for me to open the doors of my home to welcome you and your child with open arms. I am excited to partake on this journey and to provide a place where your child has “a home away from home”.
As a mother myself, I know that finding the perfect care for your little ones can be very challenging.
We offer care for children 3 months old – 6 years old. Our hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday- Friday.
Garabatos will provide
a warm and safe environment, where children love learning Spanish and feel comfortable using it.
I am committed to
providing a quality childcare and early education to develop skills in the following areas; gross/fine motor skills, speech and language, social, emotional and cognitive skills. There will be abundance of hands on activities and a lot of outside playtime, as well as balanced homemade meals.
At Garabatos Daycare, the goal is
also to provide nurturing supportive relationships and to adapt to each individual child's learning style and needs. It is important for children to develop in an environment where they feel safe, respected and loved.
